A Senior Special Assistant to Mr.
President, Doyin Okupe, alleged
that Muhammadu Buhari had once
said any attack on Boko Haram was
an attack on the North. The causal
explanation for this untoward
statement must not be swept
under the carpet. It has been long
established by keen observers of
political events long after the 2011
elections that there is a causal link
between Boko Haram insurgency
and the failure of the North to
clinch power at the centre, on the
one hand, and the lacklustre
performance of the military and
other security operatives in
quelling the insurgency on the
other hand. The big masquerades
behind Boko Haram’s seeming
invincibility are now being
exposed. How can a rag tag, ill-
trained, tiny sect of religious bigots
be able to withstand the might of
the Nigerian military but for these
treachery?
The solution to the puzzle is now in
the public domain. We now know
those behind the mask from this
hitherto unexamined
preconceptions and
presuppositions
