Africa’s biggest youth event, The
Future Awards Africa 2014, which
held on Sunday at the prestigious
Intercontinental Hotel, was an
unforgettable evening of
inspiration and mind blowing
performances.
The awards, hosted by Iyanya, Osas
Ighodaro, Ice Prince and Flavia, saw
10 outstanding individuals
rewarded for their excellent work
across different fields such as
business, entertainment, politics,
science and technology and
education.
One of the highlights of the
evening was the final phase of
TFAA’s #STOPEBOLA campaign,
which was held via an auction on a
custom piece by A-List haute
couture designer, Lanre Da Silva
Ajayi. Blogger Linda Ikeji bid a
whopping sum of N1m on the dress
and the proceeds will go to the UN
Ebola Response Fund.
The event was also graced by high-
profile personalities in persons of
President Goodluck Jonathan,
represented by the Minister for
Youth Development, Boni Haruna;
Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Dr, Oby
Ezekwesili, Omotola Jalade-
Ekeinde, Banky W, Funke Akindele,
Seyi Shay, to name a few.
The winners of the coveted awards
on the night were TFAA Prize for
Young Person of the Year won by a
27-year-old Ghanaian, Sangu Delle;
TFAA Prize in Enterprise Support, 27-
year-old Nigerian Bunmi Otegbade;
The TFAA Prize in Entertainment
was won by a 24-year-old
Tanzanian, Nasibu Abdul Juma.
Others include The TFAA Prize in
Technology by 23-year-old
Ugandan, Joshua Okello; A 30-year-
old Nigerian, Lukman Jaji, went
home with the Stella Adadevoh
Prize in Public Service and 24-year-
old Kenyan duo of Charles Nichols
and Samir Ibrahim carted home The
TFAA Prize in Agriculture.
