Founder of the Travelogue Beach
Carnival, Ayo Omotosho, has said
that a lot of fun awaits participants
at this year’s carnival holding at
Lekki Beach, Lagos between
December 26 and 28.
The carnival is described as an
activation of Travelogue
Communications Ltd, Publishers of
Travelogue Magazine.
According to him, it is an annual
beach carnival conceptualised to
promote beach tourism in Nigeria.
Omotosho says, “Every year, people
gather worldwide to celebrate
different festivals. The Rio carnival
is synonymous with Brazil, likewise
Notting Hill Carnival to London or
the Tomato Festival in Spain. The
Travelogue Beach Carnival has
emerged as a flagship signature of
Travelogue Communications with a
passion to promote beach activities
in Nigeria, where the rich and
diverse natural endowment of
motherland are exhibited along
the month gapping and
mesmerising beach lines among a
bevy of African beauties. No beach
is complete without the presence
of the people, hence our motive is
to encourage the beach culture in
Nigeria and break new grounds in
the annals of tourism propagation.”
He adds that it will feature sporting
activities, a musical show, the Miss
Beach Beauty Pageant and
exhibitions by individuals and
corporate bodies.
“The carnival will also generate
massive awareness for beach
tourism and expand its capacity to
generate more revenue for the
private and public sectors as well as
sustaining an under explored
relaxation in Nigeria which will
indirectly contribute to the general
well-being of the people,” he says,
adding that popular singer,
Oritsefemi, is expected to lead
other performers at the event.
