The governorship candidate of the
Accord Party in Oyo State, Senator
Rasidi Ladoja, has expressed
dissatisfaction over non-payment
of salaries across the country.
Ladoja said non-payment of salaries
and pension betrays workers’ trust
in the government, adding that the
welfare of civil servants should be
priority of a responsible
government.
The former governor spoke in
Ibadan, the Oyo State capital,
where he was hosted by Oyo State
teachers.
Ladoja, who berated alleged
neglect of the education sector in
the state, said the Ajimobi-led
government lacks the know-how to
move Oyo state forward.
He said, “Only breadwinners whose
salaries are regular can take care of
their families from what they earn
and get the respect of their
children and spouses. The Oyo
State civil servants have been
denied the respect of their families
because they are not paid their
salaries as at when due. When
elected in 2015, I promise to pay
salaries at the appropriate time so
that people can plan their lives.”
Chairman of the Oyo State Teachers
Forum, Mr. Olusegun Makinde,
expressed the group’s support to
Ladoja . Makinde pledged on behalf
of the teachers that they would
work for Ladoja to win the
governorship election.
