Atwo-man robbery gang, Monday night, attacked a 60-year-old woman at Agboju area of Lagos, dispossessing her of a bag containing placenta, cash and other valuables.
The woman, identified simply as Mrs Onwumere, was returning from a private hospital where her daughter was delivered of a baby boy.
She was said to have been given the placenta to dispose of, and had stopped at Agboju Market to buy ingredients to preparePepper Soupfor the nursing mother.
However, on reaching Agboju Market, the robbers, said to be operating on a motorcycle, snatched the bag from her and disappeared into the dark. Time was 9pm.
She was said to have been too stunned to raise alarm.
Some of the onlookers gave her an undisclosed amount with which to buy the ingredients.
