Lagos - A new pro-democracy group known as National Union for Democracy (NUD) has warned President Goodluck Jonathan to forget the idea of elongating his tenure by shifting the general elections again.
The group insisted that the elections fixed for March 28 and April 11 must hold.
The group’s leader, Femi Falana (SAN), during a news conference on Sunday also warned the Nigerian security services to desist from tinkering with the election process.
The group called on the National Assembly to compel the Service Chiefs to extract an undertaking that the elections would not be shifted.
The group stated that it would organize a national day of action across the country on February 28.
The event is to send a strong message to the government that the citizenry will not tolerate any attempt to interfere with the elections.
