Adamu Mu'azu Blasts 'Unpatriotic Nigerians' On Twitter Empty
PostSubject: Adamu Mu'azu Blasts 'Unpatriotic Nigerians' On Twitter    Adamu Mu'azu Blasts 'Unpatriotic Nigerians' On Twitter Empty2015-03-19, 13:00

The Peoples Democratic Party National
Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu has spoken up about
the alleged missing $20billion oil money in the
Nigerian National Petroleum Commission
(NNPC).
In rise to the vindication of NNPC as investigations
carried out by PricewaterhouseCoopers revealing
that no fund was missing, Adamu Mu’azu took to
twitter to call out “Unpatriotic Nigerians” who he felt
were too quick to jump to conclusions.
Nigeria’s government had signed a contract with an
audit firm in March last year to analyze claims of
financial impropriety in the corporation after ex
CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, made an
alarm that $20bn was missing from the coffers of
the NNPC.

However, PwC came up with its report last week and
like that of the senate, the report by PwC did not
indict NNPC. It noted, however, that the NNPC and
its subsidiary, the Nigeria Petroleum Development
Company (NPDC), are expected to refund $1.48
billion, the net amount attributable to the Federation
Account following the summary of the generated
revenue and how it was used.
Expectedly, those who have their eyes on indicting
NNPC have interpreted this to mean that the said
$1.48 billion was missing. But the NNPC has since
clarified this. The corporation said the amount is the
balance of the book value of the divested assets
transferred to NPDC upstream subsidiary, excluding
taxes and royalties.
In wake to these calls, PDP National chairman,
Adamu Mu’azu has described those who believed
there were missing funds as “Unpatriotic Nigerians”.

It would be recalled that the audit firm
PriceWaterHouseCoopers after investigation of the
financial proceedings within the Nigerian National
Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) accused the
company for various questionable transactions after
heavy allegations from Ex-CBN Governor, Sanusi
Lamido.
