I wrote on tuition free universities in sweden last week and i discovered that most people won't have the money to travel out so i that is why i have decided to write something more easier.


University of the People Tuition Free Degrees
This is the first free online university that offered free online courses which you will get a degree at the end of it.University of the People offers online, accredited, tuition-free, American university degrees. The programs are taught by world-class professors hailing from universities such as NYU, Harvard, Oxford and more in a supportive virtual small classroom setting. UoPeople prepares its students for employment by offering internship and mentoring programs to gain hands-on experience with its partners such as HP and Microsoft; in addition to academic study of the industry.

University of the People (UoPeople) is the world’s first non-profit, tuition-free, accredited online university dedicated to opening access to higher education globally. Using open-source technology, Open Educational Resources, peer-to-peer learning, and the assistance of academic volunteers, UoPeople is designed to provide access to university studies for qualified high school graduates, despite financial, geographic, societal or personal constraints. In February 2014, UoPeople received accreditation from the Distance Education Accrediting Commission, a U.S. Department of Education authorized accrediting agency.

UoPeople offers associate and bachelor degree programs in business administration and computer science. Scholarship value/inclusions:

University of the People is an American online university offering distance-learning courses. University the People is a tuition-free, non-profit institution. The University does not charge students to take classes, does not charge for any reading and other study materials, as well as does not charge for annual enrollment. In order to remain sustainable, University of the People charges an Application Processing Fee (up to $50) as well as an Exam Processing Fee ($100) per end-of-course-exam. These processing fees are collected towards the end of each course, and not at the start of your studies.

However, for those individuals who are unable to afford even these minimal fees, UoPeople offers a variety of scholarship funds to cover all, or part, of the processing fees. These funds are designed to meet the unique and diverse needs of its students. Some of the scholarships can be found below:

Microsoft4Afrika Scholarships – for African Students

The HP Women’s Scholarship Fund – for Women from any country

Fondation Hoffmann Scholarship – open to all students

Eligibility:

UoPeople accepts students who have graduated high school, have access to a computer and the Internet and have sufficient English skills to study at the University. Applicants need to complete the application requirements and undergo an application process in order to be accepted into the program.

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships


The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in partnership with UK Universities offers distance learning scholarships as part of the commitment of the Commission and the Department for International Development’s (DFID) commitment to explore new methods of scholarship delivery. The scholarships are targeted to citizens of developing commonwealth countries. The scholarships cover the overseas tuition fees at the Masters degree level.

To apply for the scholarship, you must:

• Be a citizen of a developing Commonwealth country, refugee, or British protected person

• Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country

• Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases

Note: You must also meet the specific eligibility requirements of the course you are interested in.

Application instructions:

To apply for a scholarship, you must complete your application for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship using the Electronic Application System (EAS). Before applying, you must check with your UK university for their specific advice and rules for applying. You will be required to complete a university application form in addition to your EAS application form. All applications must be submitted by 23:59 (BST) on 3 May 2016.

Edinburgh Global Distance Learning Scholarships

The University of Edinburgh offer Master’s scholarships for about 20+ distance learning Master’s programmes currently offered by the University related to social sciences, health and medicine. The scholarships are targeted to citizens of selected developing countries. Each scholarship will have a total value of £5,000 which will be deducted from the tuition fee for the entire part-time programme of study.

The scholarships will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission onto a distance learning Masters programme at the University of Edinburgh commencing in 2016-2017. Applicants must be both nationals of and resident of the eligible countries (see above).

Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.

Application instructions:

Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application. Please note that you will not be able to access the online application form unless you have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh and have full EASE authentication. The closing date for applications for these scholarships is 3 June 2016.
