The police in Jigawa on Tuesday confirmed that four persons died in an auto crash involving a Toyota bus with reg. no. FKY 943 XA on Huguma-Dutse road.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdu Jinjiri, told newsmen in Dutse that the accident occurred at about 8 p.m. on Monday.
Jinjiri said the accident happened when the driver of the bus lost control at Kudai Buji village in Dutse Local Government Area.
He said that the bus was conveying 28 passengers, 18 females and 10 males from Kwayakusar in Borno.
Jinjiri said three of the victims died on the spot, while the other died later at the Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital, Dutse.
According to him, the rest of the passengers sustained various degrees of injuries and were receiving treatment at the Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital.
Jinjiri advised motorists to desist from over speeding and overloading under whatever circumstances.
