Honor has become a respectful brand not only in China, but also in the United States. The company's latest flagship, the Honor 8 is a pretty decent device that's now being upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat.

A Honor new device that goes by model number DUK-TL30 was recently certified at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission. Judging by the list of specs, this seems to be Honor 8's successor, or a beefed up version of it.

It's got an octa-core processor under the hood, though the name of the chipset isn't mentioned. Still, there's a high chance that this would be Huawei's Kirin 960 CPU, which is also packed inside the Mate 9.

The powerful octa-core processor is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). The pictures found on TENAA's website confirm a dual-lens camera configuration on the back side, which comprises 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel photo snappers.

Unlike the Honor 8 that sports a 5.2-inch full HD (1080p) display, the DUK-TL30 comes with a much larger 5.7-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. However, the fingerprint sensor remains on the back side.

More importantly, the phone is powered by a large 3,900 mAh battery, which should be enough to get you through a day of heavy use. Since the phone is headed to China Mobile, it comes with dual-SIM support, but this feature could be included in the global version as well.

Obviously, the phone will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat on board. We're only seeing the gold variant in the pictures listed on TENAA, but we can safely assume Honor will make it available in many different colors.
