outcome of meeting held concerning Uniuyo riot that lead to the dead of three students

OUTCOME OF TODAY'S MEETING BETWEEN THE PRO-CHANCELLOR AND STUDENT UNION LEADERS OF UNIUYO.

At yesterday's meeting between the Pro-Chancellor of University of Uyo and Student Union Leaders, the report of the Governing Council Investigative Panel into the crisis that erupted on June 12 in the school which led to serious destruction, arson, arrests, death and closure of the school was made public.
The following decisions emerged;
1) The Vice Chancellor was found not culpable and exonerated.
2)The Deputy Vice Chancellors were found culpable and directed to be warned in writing.
3) The Dean of Students' and Chief Security Officer were found culpable and their appointments are to be terminated.
4) The cost of properties damaged was assessed at N122 million.
5)Students of the Faculty of Engineering are to pay a surcharge of #10,000.
6) Other students are to pay a surcharge of #7,500.
7)About 16 students tagged "Ring Leaders" have been recommended for expulsion.good morning
