If you're playing Virtual Games (Dog Race or soccer) for example, the bookmaker/Bookies know the 'true odds' of any outcome

and so build in a margin which means that they ALWAYS win in the long term and, consequently, means that you will ALWAYS

lose in the long term.

When it comes to sports betting the bookmakers also try to build in a margin but because we are dealing with people and

animals rather than machines there is no way of knowing for certain the true odds of something happening, therefore if you

are better than the bookmakers at this you WILL make money in the long term.


Odds on or short odd can be massive real value......

So if you were being offered odds of 1.45 on Real Madrid's first team to beat Marseille's reserves team you wouldn't take

them?

Of course you bloody would.

Fact is odds of 1.25 can be great value and odds of 101.0 can be awful value – the 'odd' taken in isolation is meaningless.

That looks too good to be true – I'm not trying it as there must be a catch

Perhaps the biggest irritant of all for me personally is people who write something off without even trying it because of

their preconceptions.




The easy way to get value

Value may be easily defined but it's often quite tough to achieve on a regular basis…

That is unless you focus your attention on those occasions where the bookmakers give you a helping hand.

Because you see, bookmakers do that a LOT these days.

There's just so much competition that they're becoming increasingly open to running just in name of bonus to your slip that
