Four California teenagers were arrested and
accused of clubbing dead 920 chickens, authorities said on
Thursday.
The incident happened on 20 September at a Fosters Farm
facility in Caruthers, California, about three hours north of
Los Angeles, according to Fresno Sheriff's department.
Gabriel Quintero, aged 18, two 17-year-old boys and a 15-
year-old boy are suspected of using "a golf club and
another similar type instrument to slaughter the birds,"
according to the press release.
Investigators say the teens pulled back a wall to one of
the chicken sheds to enter the facility.
The suspects, who were arrested on Wednesday night, are
accused of killing about 920 chickens.
Authorities said they recovered evidence from the
teenagers' homes linking them to the scene.
They face felony charges of burglary and cruelty to
animals, the statement said.
The chicken farm estimates the value of the destroyed birds
at around $5 000.
