“I promise you if you vote for me and I come back and serve this country in the next four years, the next persons that will become the president of this country will not talk about corruption because we are working on technology and we will use technology to block all these areas through which people are corruptly enriching themselves.

“Today we are talking about IT. We are no longer in the analogue generation. So we want to deploy IT to solve problems and I tell you in the next five years nobody will harass the next president for not fighting corruption because I will solve the problem of corruption in this country.”

– this was what Goodluck Jonathan told Nigerians in the last days of his campaign when it very became obvious to him that a lot of people have concluded that his government is highly corrupt. His appeal promise did not work, he was eventually defeated.
