Chelsea and Antonio Conte have reached an outline agreement over a move next season.
The Italy coach met with Chelsea officials in Rome to discuss terms with the London giants.
TMW says a two-year deal worth €16 million has been tentatively agreed, with Conte making it clear to Chelsea he wants to be left alone to focus on the Euros.
However, the two parties have agreed to meet again in April to consider a deal.
Along with Conte, Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone is also on Chelsea's shortlist, though his five-year contract is a stumbling block.
