AFCON qualifiers: Keshi is stubborn, there is no miracle – Owolabi

A former Green Eagles player, Felix Owolabi, on Sunday described Coach Stephen Keshi’s attitude towards the selection of quality players as stubborn.
The former Ibadan Shooting Stars Club (3SC) board member told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the coach’s attitude of sidelining players he has personal issues with has killed the team.
NAN reports that Super Eagles lost 1-0 to Sudan in its qualifying match towards the 2015 Nations Cup.
“Keshi does not know how to manage success, he is stubborn, and he has managed to sideline players that could have helped us.
“The result of Saturday’s match has shown that we may not qualify and it’s sad and embarrassing.
“We were bragging about how we were going to defeat Sudan while Sudan was plotting our fall, our defence and mid-field was in shamble,” Owolabi said.
Keshi is yet to react to the defeat.
But the NFA urged Nigerians not to worry, as the encounter was an eye opener to the competition.

Its the coach that will select the right players with the right mentality. Not to select mediocres that find it hard to even trap the ball.

yes bro I also think d coach is the issue ...are invited the players ..and majority of the player invited ain't playing competitive football at the club level due to this;dey lack match fitnness....majority benchers in their respective club

the losses is too much sir, so they need correction seriously.

looks like it is time to move on guys and not be stuck on players with histories.

lol, when a team lose and they perform nicely no one wld fault them,the major problem is keshi,he really need to go study coaching because winning a nations cup doesnt garantee u re good,he got no tactics,bad in selecting players and as a trainer the team re always heavy and slow.dat s a sign of bad coaching,but i wont blame him,he cant give wat he doesnt ve, e won nations cup base on d fightin spirit of d players and luck
