Dozens dead as Boko Haram launches fresh attacks on Borno communities

Hundreds of suspected Boko Haram insurgents invaded Fuyi, Fatakol and other
communities bordering Cameroon, Kala Balge and Gamboru Ngala local
government areas of Borno state living dozens of people dead, houses
destroyed after looting property including live stocks. Sources and witnesses
have said.
Kala Balge and Gamboru Ngala are located south east of Maiduguri, the state
capital which remained under the control of insurgents, until recently when
Chadian troops dislodged them from their hideouts, but sources said, after
retaking some of these communities, the troops advanced towards Dikwa town
and continued their mission with none of Nigerian troops stationed in the
captured communities if Gamboru Ngala.
The incident according to reliable source occurred at about 7am on Thursday
when the insurgents in a coordinated attacks on the communities slaughtered
over 13 people in Fuyi village near Gamboru Ngala, a border town with
Cameroon Republic.
Sources revealed that the insurgents many in numbers armed with AK47 rifles,
Anti Aircraft Guns mounted on some Hilux vehicles, with large number of
Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and locally made petrol bombs invaded the
communities and wrecked havoc, before Camerounian troops responded
gallantly.
The source added that, already the Camerounian troops were busy repelling the
attacks on the affected communities, which according to the source, the fire
power coming from the troops may lead to the death of scores of the
insurgents.
“Many people were killed in Fuyi village by suspected terrorists on Thursday,
likewise, in Fatakol town of Cameroon Republic, another group of insurgents
attacked nearby communities living many people dead with scores injured”. An
unanimous eye witnesses from Fuyi and Fatakol told BBC Hausa service
monitored by our Correspondent in Maiduguri. End
