Ogun APC, PDP allege rigging plan

THE All Progressives Congress in
Ogun State has raised the alarm
over alleged recruitment of armed
thugs and secret cult members by
the Peoples Democratic Party to rig
the governorship and state
assembly elections on Saturday.
The Director- General of the
Senator Ibikunle Amosun Campaign
Organisation, Chief Bode Mustapha,
made the allegations at a press
conference in Abeokuta on
Thursday.
Mustapha also accused the PDP of
having allegedly compromised
some officials of the Independent
National Electoral Commission and
bought thousands of Permanent
Voter Cards with a view to
manipulate the elections.
He said the APC got wind of the PDP
plot through its intelligence arm.
The PDP in the state has however
denied the allegation and accused
the APC of being the one planning
to rig the polls.
Ifekayode Akinbode, the director of
media and publicity of Ogun PDP
governorship candidate, Gboyega
Nasir Isiaka Campaign Organisation,
said the APC had perfected plans to
rig.
Akinbode also said the PDP had also
uncovered plot by Governor
Ibikunle Amosun to use state
government vehicles and security
personnel attached to him to hijack
voting materials in the rural
communities and urged the
electorates to be vigilant and ready
to defend their votes.
He said, “Amosun is now very
desperate because he has seen the
writings on the wall but he should
know that he would be held
responsible for any attempt to
truncate the will of the people.
“If he is not afraid of the PDP why
did he send thugs after PDP
members at Ijebu Ode and Sagamu.
But surprisingly he would be the
one to cry out and accuse
opposition of what he is planning
to do.
“We dare say that hundreds of his
thugs and cultists he brought from
Lagos and let loose cannot subvert
the will of the people
