The last may not have been heard of the ongoing feud between 23-year-old pop
star, David Adeleke popularly called Davido and 28-year-old Sophie Momodu, as
the latter’s cousin and publisher of the popular magazine, Ovation, Dele
Momodu, Monday night fired back at Davido, explaining why they prevented the
former from travelling to Dubai with Baby Imade for further medical attention.
The veteran journalist also took time to response to the allegation by Davido
that his niece, Sophia infected their 7-month old daughter with Cannabis,
describing the allegation as ‘cruel.”
He said, the initial reaction was to maintain the ceasefire but this latest attack
against a defenceless lady who merely asked that she be allowed to enjoy the
fruit of motherhood was the limit of recklessness and rascality.
Dele Momodu took to his Instagram handle, Monday night to put the record
straight.
According to him, “The newspapers were awash this morning and social media
has been on fire since(Monday) yesterday. My cousin Sophie Momodu was
comprehensively scandalized.
Even a laboratory result alleging she’s a cannabis smoker was splashed
everywhere. She was said to have infected her own baby with cannabis. The
vicious authors expected some gullible people to believe them. Nothing could
have been cruellest.

Writing further, he said, “All sensible human beings should abhor and condemn
this unwarranted fabrication of endless lies just to justify the act of forcefully
detaching as baby from her biological mother. Check this picture well.
That’s baby Imade with her aunt Ashley Adeleke who took her to Dubai a few
months ago against her mother’s consent. The world has been told that the
baby was sick that she needed urgent medical attention in Dubai. Imade’s
mother was deprived of attending personally to her own baby.

Baby Imade has been forcefully separated from her mum since July 11, 2015,
when she was barely two months old. We have pleaded for months with the
Adelekes to return the baby to her real mum. Sophie was allowed to visit her
daughter once a week every Sunday, inside Dr. Adeleke’s guest quarters. We did
not fight.
We did not engage in social media wars. They said, our family was too poor and
beneath their status. We did not mind. They said, Sophie was a gold-digger, we
did not respond. We only kicked when baby Imade was to be taken out again,
without the mum’s necessary consent. No one asked than to take Sophie along. We only tried to stop the impunity and
dehumanization of a poor mother. We acted within the ambit of the law. No
more.”
Last Sunday, Davido rebuffed claims by his estranged lover, Sophia Momodu on
the circumstances surrounding the removal of their daughter, Imade, from
Sophia’s custody.
In a long narrative, Adeleke alleged that Sophia had been in weekly contact with
Imade up till last week and claimed that hospital authorities had sought to
transfer the baby to officials of the Lagos State Children Welfare Authority on
account of alleged drug use by Sophia.
Adeleke in his narrative said the hospital authorities recanted only after Sophia
agreed to surrender the baby for care with him, saying his estranged lover had
kept to the agreement until she recanted last week as she insisted on going
along with the Adeleke family for the treatment and family vacation in Dubai.
Adeleke in the narrative poured invectives on the respected veteran journalist,
Dele Momodu, who he accused of not taking care of his niece, Sophia, alleging
that Mr. Momodu and his wife entered the scene as busybodies who he claimed
did not bother about the welfare of their niece until she had a baby for him.
However, Davido reportedly has taken to his official instgram handle to
apologize to Dele Momodu for his outburst.
