| A Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, has remanded in Kirikiri prison, a 33-year- old man, Oyebuchi Okadigbo, for allegedly stealing N85 million belonging to one Alhaji Muhammed Adios. The presiding judge, Justice Sedotan Ogunsanya, ordered that the defendant be remanded in the prison and fixed March 24 for commencement of trial. Okadigbo was arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy to commit armed robbery, but he however pleaded not guilty. The charge stated that the offence is contrary to Sections 297 and 295 (2) (a) Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. According to the lead counsel from the office of Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, Mrs Mosunmola Balogun, the defendant and others at large committed the offence on November 14, 2014. Balogun explained that the defendant and his accomplices robbed the victim (Adios) in his residence, along Lagos Badagry expressway. The prosecutor maintained that the defendant, after collecting the N85 miilion, also went away with the victim’s Blackberry Curve 5, clothes and ECOWAS international passport. | |
