Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole has announced the increment of the National Minimum Wage from N18,000 to N25, 000 to state employees.

The Governor made this known on Sunday at the Workers Day saying the increment takes immediate effect, for employees in the State Public Service.

Oshiomhole also promised prompt payment of outstanding arrears of salary to the staff of Local Government Councils in the state.

The governor used the opportunity to explain why staff of Egor Local Government Council were omitted from the bailout to local government councils in 2015while assuring the staff of payment in two weeks.
