Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has taken to his social media accounts to react to Germany’s elimination from Euro 2016.

The Gunners man and his Germany team-mates were knocked out of the tournament after a 2-0 loss to France in their semi-final clash at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille yesterday evening.

But Ozil was magnanimous in defeat and posted a statement online this morning in which he congratulated France on their hosting and on-pitch achievements. Alluding to the terror attacks on Paris last November, he said the people of France deserved the team’s success.
