Stop further attacks, ex-militant leaders beg Avengers, others

EX-MILITANT leader, Mr. Smart Amola (aka) ‘General’ Gentle, yesterday, appealed to the Niger Delta Avengers to stop further attacks on oil installations, insisting that the attacks have negative effects on the economy of the region and the country.

Also, Niger Delta Sustainable Development Advocacy, NDSDA, has called on Ijaw elders and leaders of thought not to allow the Avengers and other militants to use the bombing of oil and gas installations in the region to continuously hold government and international oil companies to ransom.

NDSDA, in a statement by Greg Afoegba, however, commended the leaders for their recent intervention, urging militants to embrace dialogue and cease hostilities.
