Ah, good old Counter Strike — the FPS that will never die. It's a game that started off as a Half-Life mod way back in 1999 and is so ingrained in gamer culture that won itself multiple full game remakes, and is still going strong with its own eSports segment.

Easily the most popular on our list, and for good reason, Critical Ops has been around since the end of 2015 and the developer is still actively working on it. The game controls great and it's obvious that a lot of thought has been put into where various interface elements should be placed and how they should act. It's also very CS-ish in feel, all the way down to the fact that you don't have iron sights or any form of zoom unless you buy a gun with a scope. The matches are bomb defusal missions — one team needs to plant a bomb, the other needs to defuse it. The maps are unique, but do carry that good old CS feel. Still, they are smaller, making it easier to jump in for a quick, action-packed, skirmish. Controller support has been alluded to in unofficial channels, but nothing has been confirmed by the developer yet, as the game is still in its early stages.
