The P8 lite (2017) is Huawei newest mid-range smartphone, which is not to be confused with the first P8 lite that was launched back in 2015. The handset wasn't introduced at a dedicated event, but it looks like it will be available for purchase by the end of January.

The smartphone will first be released in Europe for €239, but the Huawei P8 lite (2017) will slowly make its way to other markets in the coming months, including Latin America where it will probably be launched as P9 lite (2017).

Specs-wise, the P8 lite (2017) is a pretty solid choice for those looking for a mid-range smartphone. It ships with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system on board, but it doesn't include a dual-camera setup, which Huawei is only saving for its high-end devices.

Instead, the mid-range handset features a single lens 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. A LED flash is available too, along with a fingerprint sensor both positioned on the back side. The 8-megapixel secondary camera in the front is likely to take state-of-the-art selfie pictures.

When it comes to hardware, Huawei packed its own Kirin 655 chipset inside (the same as Honor 6X) featuring eight cores and a Mali-T830 MP2 graphics processing unit. The octa-core processor is paired with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal memory.

It's also worth noting that the P8 lite (2017) sports a 5.2-inch IPS display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution, and it's powered by a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery.
