37 year-old Man Caught Trying To Kidnap 6 Year Old Girl

Akure Chief Magistrates' Court today charged one Olarenwaju Akinbimi for trying to kidnap a six year old little girl.

The 37-year-old man is facing one count of conspiracy and one count of attempted kidnap, The Prosecutor, ASP. Isah Atanegbe revealed that Akinbimi and his co-conspirators still at large had planned the kidnapping.

Akinbimi had tried to kidnap the young girl on May 5 by 8.15 a.m. at Ore in the Ore Local Government Area of Ondo State. She was sent on an errand by her Mother and then was confronted by the alleged criminals but she raised an alarm which attracted passers-by, who apprehended the accused.

The accused faces a two year prison term, He was not represented by any counsel and plead not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Mr Daomi Adebisi gave the accused bail in sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
