Nokia ends three decades of smartphone ecosystem Empty
PostSubject: Nokia ends three decades of smartphone ecosystem   Nokia ends three decades of smartphone ecosystem Empty2014-11-23, 20:12

Apparently, after three decades of leading the smartphone ecosystem, the introduction of Lumia 830 flagship may be the last smartphone to wear the iconic Nokia logo.
One thing is certain. Once the branding switch to Microsoft Lumia is completed, it will bring to an end nearly three decades of Nokia phones, a long run that stretches back into the 1980s.
Earlier last month, it was reported that Microsoft was to drop both the Nokia and Windows Phone brand names in favour of just using Lumia.
With this development, Microsoft devices will carry the company’s name in the place where the word ‘Nokia’ used to appear.
Certainly, Nokia Lumia 830 is among the first devices to run natively on the Windows Phone 8.1 update 1 OS with the latest Lumia Denim enhancements.
For smart phone lover who cannot afford iPhone 6, Galaxy S5 or a Lumia 930, the new product is the bailout option as a result of its attractive and comparative price despite innovative feature embed in it.
With a thin metal frames, the Lumia 830 series comes up with a vivid screen, a PureView camera and a snappy chipset behind an even snappier Windows Phone.
At first glimpse, the product which is well built with a metal frame, a 2.5D screen glass, exchangeable rear covers in various colors, an OIS-enabled rear camera highlighted with a black glass appears to be the toast of smart phone lovers.
Key selling point
Although other Lumia series in the market might be attractive to customers, the PureView sensor is a key selling point of Lumia 830 with 10MP resolution, ZEISS lens and optical image stabilization.
Key to its appeal is the camera, a 10-megapixel effort with built-in optical image stabilization (OIS). However, many high end phones do not have OIS. This feature helps counteract camera shake and help produce brighter, sharper photos in gloomy light.
Wireless charging
Supporting all connectivity like bluetooth, NFC, Wifi, GPS, 3G, 4G and USB, the new product arguably is up to date with wireless charging supporting 128GB microSD memory cards.
Design
With sleek and stylish design, the Lumia 830 is a long, rectangular phone made of the usual dense, matte Nokia plastic, with a set of removable colored backs.
The camera and the design are the two features that earn the Lumia 830 its ‘affordable flagship’ tag, Just like the Lumia 930 which sits above the 830 in the Windows Phone lineup, the Lumia 830 has a 5-inch screen sharing the same basic design.
Screen:
Backed with an impressively bright screen and 5-inch 1,280 x 720 screen, the smart device is good in at picking the right brightness level for the conditions. Although the product is not OLED like the Lumia 930 or the Lumia 735, lacking ultra-deep blacks, but is sharp and colours are accurate.
Performance
With 3 hours, 44 minutes, users can enjoy multimedia content, productive on the go, and capture ideas anywhere without suffering from power limitation. Running on the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system and powered by Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor and loaded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset and incorporated with 1GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage and microSD support up to 128 GB, the device is very innovative that can attract the attention of techies.
Coming in orange, green, white and black options like other series, the well build quality of the product cannot be faulted. Going by user experience, its a well-featured phone.
