The Ogun State governorship
candidate of the Unity Party of
Nigeria, Olurotimi Paseda, has said
the people’s wish will prevail in
the 2015 general elections.
He said this while speaking with
journalists in Omu, Odogbolu Local
Government Area of the state on
Monday.
Paseda stressed that he had the
conviction that the people would
vote en masse in 2015.
He was in the local government as
part of his familiarisation tour of
the 20 local government areas in
the state.
He said, “All I know is that the
people’s mandate will prevail in
2015. I have an absolute conviction
that people will vote, they will
come out en masse to vote.
“All we can do is to ensure that
wherever we foresee malpractices,
our officers will be there to check it
and report it, all we hope for is for
the people to speak.”
While Paseda commended the
Independent National Electoral
Commission for the preparation so
far made for the elections, he noted
that what parties needed to do was
to be vigilant and ensure a massive
turnout at the polling centres.
On his observation while on tour of
the local government areas, Paseda
expressed shock at the level of
decay in rural areas.
He, however, said the reception he
got was overwhelming across the
state.
Paseda said he was better
equipped to know the needs of the
people.
He said, “This is what makes it all
worth the while. It has been 20
good days of being around
sensitising the people and feeling
the pulse.”
