The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has said Stephen James, the police sergeant who killed three men, including two siblings, before shooting himself at the weekend in Lagos would be dismissed posthumously.
James had at about 4pm on Saturday in the Ketu area of the state, killed the three men, including a twin for advising him to behave as an adult. The Sergeant with force number 217884, attached to MOPOL 22, Oduduwa, GRA, Ikeja, was said to have threatened to shoot anyone who refused to buy alcohol for him at the hotel bar.
Owoseni while reacting to the ugly incident, said, “We would try him even in death and dismiss him for his actions. We want to use this medium to sympathize with the families of the deceased and we apologize for the irrational actions of the policeman who also took his life.” He added that the Sergeant can no longer be a member of the force following his callous behavior.
